An illness has kept me away from knifemaking since April, but I forged my first knives, today; great therapy! Hope you had good fortune at the recent San Antonio gun show. Bill.......
Tobin, I view/review your site & that of James Helms looking for new entries, w.i.p., etc. I did a bit of re-forging, on the two knives I'm working on, to thin the blades more. Each knife started as 1/4"X11/2" flatbar(11"&12" in length). I thinned ea. to 1/8" w/guards made onto/out of the tangs. Ea. blade was normalized 3 times & I'll start the handles(elk antler), tomorrow. Glad to hear you did well at the gun show......Later, Bill.........
